Our Indian Constitution defines democracy as “The government for the people, by the people and of the people”. This illustrates that people are the pillars for any democratic rule. But the question as to whether people get the equal rights in our democracy remains unanswered. Every five years we get a chance to elect our leader but few people make a wise decision concerning the welfare of nation. Recently we even witnessed political leaders bribing the people to get votes. It is the responsibility of our citizens to be aware of their rights and duties and make their contribution and making India a developed nation.
